My 6 Best Productivity Tips

There is something about the Fall beginning that is so motivating to me. I think it’s the feeling of the seasons changing and starting on a new schedule. We may be in a pandemic but we are busier than ever. Between school and activities starting and work being so crazy I try to keep myself organized and prepared. Today I wanted to share with you my 6 best productivity tips that help make my days and my life go a bit smoother.

My 6 Best Productivity Tips

Prepare for the week.

I use Sundays this time of year to get ready for the week. Making sure groceries are stocked, our meals are planned out, and getting the house cleaned and in order. By doing this on a Sunday that means that I can spend my week focused on working and the kids and not having to worry too much about housework or running to the store to get something. I use Peapod to deliver my groceries Friday evenings so I am stocked for the following week.

Prepare for the day.

At night I try to prepare for the next day as much as possible. I make the kids lunches, pack Joe’s backpack, and lay out their clothes for the morning. This saves me time in the morning so we don’t have to rush.

Get a planner and make lists.

I love using a paper planner in addition to my phone calendar for appointments. However the key to me getting things done is making lists. The notepad above is AMAZING! I also just ordered this planner which you can add personalized pages so I added to do list pages to every week. This way I can look back or carry tasks that didn’t get completed over to the next week. Write EVERYTHING you need to do down and it will be a huge lifesaver!

Get help if you can.

I have help with the kids a few hours a week, have someone come clean the house every 2 weeks, have help with other things around the house a couple hours a week, etc. This frees up time so I can get other things done that no-one else can do, like work or take the kids out somewhere.

If you have kids, get up before them.

I would always schedule my workouts late in the morning. Even though I love working out at that time, it really put a damper on my day. That’s a half hour I could be working, plus I end up in workout clothes all day. Now I get up at 5am since the kids are up around 6am and get my workout done for the day. It is so nice to not worry about it during the day and to get dressed in real clothes. Even if you aren’t into working out, get up early and get other things done. Or enjoy some me time. I also find that I now fall asleep faster and sleep better!

Get and keep your home organized.

This is a BIG one. Organization not only makes my mind happy but it makes my day go smoother when everything is where it belongs. I tackle organization projects as needed however I try to take the time once every week or two to put things back in order that have gotten a bit disheveled.
