If you have been following me for awhile you know that last year we decided to take on a complete kitchen remodeling project. We kept the same layout since it worked so well, but we completely gutted it and for the most part replaced everything. We decided as long as things were for the most part taken down and we already weren’t going to have access to the kitchen for quite a while, to call pest control services for a bit of upkeep just to be safe. We’ve had issues with pests before, possibly due to inadvertently dropping food, having a door to the yard right there, or something along those lines. We would call them every few months, and that was in fact yielding results. As previously stated, since the kitchen was going to be pretty much fully upturned, we discussed it with pest control services and they agreed that it would be a good idea to take this opportunity to spray and clean for a fresh start.
Once that was done we moved on to the main goal of the project. Some of the things we did were install white kitchen cabinets, put in a white Quartz countertop, a white marble backsplash, and a faux marble tile. We did keep our dark espresso island since we redid that a few years prior. I wanted a white glam kitchen and that is exactly what I got. You can read all of the details here.
The only other thing we kept from our old kitchen was our light fixtures. They were only a few years old too and I liked them. Also by that point I was tired of all of the decision making. However after living in the space for the last year, the old light fixtures just did not mesh well with the new kitchen. They were holding the room back from being what I really wanted it to be. Well we finally changed them out recently, and I am happy to share with you my spring kitchen update with Safavieh.
Spring Kitchen Update with Safavieh
I wanted gold light fixtures to go with my other gold accents.
And since Safavieh is my go to for some many home items, I knew that would have exactly what I wanted. They always have a huge variety of items to choose from and their quality is always so great. I also knew I wanted lantern pendants for over my island and they had quite a few different ones to choose from. Ultimately I chose the bigger ones because I feel like they made the perfect statement in the middle of my kitchen.
For over the kitchen table I went with a round 8 light chandelier that is simple but perfect. I honestly wanted the pendants to be the focus. And since they are close to the kitchen table, and didn’t want anything to take away from them. You can see what my kitchen looked like before and my old light fixtures that I had here.
I have to say that I absolutely love my kitchen now and it is exactly the way I envisioned it. This kitchen out in my head for years and the new light fixtures just have a way of tying everything together. The room now feels complete. I still need to figure out that empty wall by the kitchen table as well as the windows but that is for another day.
I am going to link as much as I can below.

It actually was a coat closet that we had opened up and turned into a mudroom and it is AMAZING. The next project we will be doing this year is putting on addition off our master bedroom. It will be a big closet for me as well as a covered patio outside, so stay tuned!
