The weather is warmer, days are longer, and summer is right around the corner! If you have fitness goals you want to reach before summer, then this post is for you! Some of the best ways to start are by increasing your daily water intake, committing to a regular weekly exercise routine and improving your diet. I’m sharing my best tips and top picks to shop that will help you get there!

In case you missed it, I shared The Best Items for an Outdoor Patio Refresh!

My Fitness Journey

I’d love to start by sharing a little about my journey with fitness and health to hopefully inspire you. Working out has always been a huge part of my life! I used to workout for over an hour a day but after I had my kids, I fell off a bit. A few months after having my youngest is when I decided it was time to get back into it. I hired a personal trainer and switched up my routine to get a workout in 3 times a week for 30 minutes.

The good news is you really don’t need to workout for over an hour every single day to see results!

If you choose to workout in 30 minutes or less, you’ll just want to be sure you are pushing hard through the whole thing. There are great HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) workouts I love like Tabata because it allows me to continue to burn fat all day long. I tend to switch my focus now between weight lifting and cardio or fat burning. However, it’s best to incorporate both regardless of your main focus.

Tips & Ideas

Setting Your Fitness Goals

The first thing you might want to do before jumping right in is set your goals by writing them down. It’s best to be super specific here! Whether your goal is to be overall more active, healthier, build muscle mass, or just tone up a bit – writing it down will help take it more seriously. There are a ton of fitness tracking journals out there to get you started! I roundup a few for you to check out below.

Get Moving

Now you’re ready to take action! You have to start somewhere so if that means making it to the gym a couple times a week and fitting in one home workout, that’s fine! I recommend having basic gym equipment at the house even if you don’t have a home gym. That way, it’s easier to fit a quick workout in! I linked a few of my favorite items in our home gym that I use and love.

Stay Hydrated

One of the most important things you can do for your body is to keep it hydrated. An easy way to make sure you’re drinking enough water daily is to have a tumbler like the Stanley Cup by your side all day long and especially during your workouts. I own and love the 40oz version and think it’s worth the hype! They sell out super quickly so I’d grab one before they’re gone!

Dress the Part

Does anyone else feel more motivated to exercise when you have cute workout clothes on? I know I do! There are many options for cute workout clothes from Amazon which are more affordable finds. You can also grab pieces from Lululemon, and Alo Yoga if you want to splurge a bit! Don’t forget to prioritize comfort and functionality in addition to style. Shop some of my latest finds below!

Reach Fitness Goals Through Diet

Your diet as in, what you eat on a daily basis is a top contributor to overall health and fitness. A well-balanced diet includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. This doesn’t mean that you can’t indulge – trust me, I love dessert! It’s mainly important to aim for moderation and portion control when needed. Start by becoming more aware of your daily food intake and habits paired with the tips above and you’ll reach your fitness goals in no time!
