With summer creeping up that means we will all be living in shorts and bathing suits. One reason we all tend to dread the season and wear these things is because of cellulite. So today I wanted to share with you what I have been doing, and what I have found to be the best ways to combat cellulite. I can tell you I have been doing exactly all of this written below for a few weeks now and I already notice a BIG difference. I am also linking everything mentioned at the very bottom of the post.
What is Cellulite?
Cellulite is basically pockets of fat under the skin that create a dimpled appearance. It doesn’t matter your weight or even Agee, it is something I think ALL of us have. Now even though you can’t completely get rid of it, you can do a lot to help to lessen the appearance.
Topical Treatments
These are the products that I have been using twice a day everyday. I first use a body oil all over my body. I honestly just love them as a moisturizer this time of year and I feel that they help tighten and firm the skin. Then I apply the Clarins Body Fit on my butt and my legs, just down to the knee. Lastly I take this body brush and I massage it all in for a good minute or two. I feel like this last part is the key because it really helps move the fatty tissue and stimulates the area and increases blood flow. This also reduces excess fluid, and in return minimizes the appearance of cellulite.
Exercise
There are certain exercises that you can do to help firm and target the area. When the connective fibers underneath the skin are strong, cellulite is much less noticeable. Also just regular exercise and burning away excess fat overall helps too of course. I love the band I am using below because it provides such great resistance and doesn’t move. You can definitely do this with no band at all too. Here are a few exercises that I have been doing daily.
Hydrate and Eat Well
You may think that it’s a no brainer but a lot of us don’t realize that being dehydrated and eating a bad diet makes cellulite look much worse. One of the best things that we can do is to drink tons of water. I always try to drink almost a gallon a day. I drink from this huge cup every day which helps me meet that goal. Water helps remove toxins that can lead to fat accumulation and it encourages circulation and lymphatic flow. Eating a clean diet that is free from processed foods and a lot of sodium helps minimize cellulite as well. I personally opt to snack on fruits like melon that have a high water content too.
Tanning
Having tan skin hides the appearance of cellulite so I apply self tanner once a week. You can check out my entire self tanning routine here.

Fabulous suggestions and I love hearing it from someone for whom it has actually worked. I do have one of those scrubbers but don’t use it nearly enough. And I am a firm believer in a good self-tanner! I’m really interested in the oil and going to have a closer look at the resistance band, too. I haven’t done anything with resistance bands before but I think they’re a great idea! Thanks so much for sharing.
