Covered Patio Reveal

I am so excited to share with you a project we have been working on since spring!  The project is finally complete, and thanks to Home Depot,  it is now a cozy place for our family to gather. Home Depot made designing this space a breeze.  I downloaded their app and found everything I needed right there.  They even have an augmented reality tool that let me see what the products would like like in the space before I purchased. Also I am super excited to be featured on HomeDepot.com and you can check that out here.

We have a great patio and yard area that we absolutely love. However it is so bright and sunny, we get hardly any shade. We always said we wanted to do a nice covered patio so we could have a place to escape the sun. We added the covered patio, and on top is going to be my dream closet. The closet is still a work in progress however the outside part is done. Here is my Covered Patio Reveal.

Structural

The first thing I want to talk about is the structural portion of it. We used T&P Contracting here in Connecticut and not only did they do an amazing job but they did it super quick and made it painless. They handled every aspect of it too. For the masonry we work we used Dauti Masonry (feel free to email me for their information). Watching them cut and lay the stone is like watching an artist at work. They did exactly what my husband wanted and matched the stone to the rest of our yard perfectly. The addition looks like it was always there and not an after thought and blends seamlessly with our house.

Decorating with Home Depot

I knew I wanted to make the area underneath the cover porch into a cozy sitting area. We have a TV on the wall now too so I wanted the space to be a nice place for us to go to to take a break from the sun and the pool. I found everything I needed at Home Depot. Not only did they have so many great pieces to choose from, everything you see here I got for under $1200.

I wanted it to be neutral with some pops of color. I found this great grey sectional that fit the space perfectly. It is comfortable to sit on and came with an ottoman which is perfect to put our drinks and snacks on. I also like that in between the sitting areas is a storage bin to store the cushions in.

The key to decorating this small space was layering, and adding some fun details.  I found this beautiful outdoor rug that added a touch of color. And to finish the space I added some decor with the throw pillows, lanterns, and flameless candles. We also added some landscape lighting with the help of professionals that do landscape lighting in West Palm Beach, FL and had the right tools and equipment such as Platforms and Ladders. I feel like mixing  some pops of color and prints is what really has helped bring the space to life and tied it all together.

I just love the way it turned out and I can not wait to start enjoying this space with my boys.
