I keep buying spring clothes hoping the warmer weather will follow lol No such luck quite yet. I, however, find peace knowing that it will be here very soon. Spring and summer are my favorite seasons to shop as well as my favorite time of the year. So I am more than happy to buy some fun spring outfits. Since I live in Connecticut and we have all four seasons it is important that I invest in pieces that can easily help transition me from one season to the next.
Going from Winter to Spring can especially be tricky because the weather could be all over the place. One day it may be 65 and sunny and the next 45 with a chance of flurries. I have found some key pieces that will help you out not matter what the forecast is. Today I wanted to share with you 5 pieces to transition your wardrobe to spring.
5 Pieces to Transition Your Wardrobe to Spring
Light, Frayed Hem Jeans
Nothing yells spring like light colored jeans (or white denim for that matter too). Frayed hems have been big for a few seasons now but we are seeing them more and more lately. I like them because they add a little edge and casual vibe to your outfit. I also feel like they frame out your ankle making your shoe’s pop. The ones I am wearing in this picture are SO good. They are super soft and make your butt look amazing. I have to be honest I love the way jeans look but I hate the way they feel. If they are even a hard or stiff there is not even a chance that I am going to wear them.
So believe me when I recommend jeans, you know they are going to be comfortable. These are perfect from going from winter to spring and even look cute with a pair of ankle boots. I also really love all of the cropped pants and the cropped jeans I have been seeing lately.
Bodysuits
I have been stocking up on bodysuits! There really is no better staple piece to have in your wardrobe. It is a great layering piece to wear under a blazer or cardigan, and of course you can wear them alone. This makes them a great winter to spring staple. I also find them very flattering and slimming. I like that they are streamlined and stay put. They don’t come untucked like a tank or t-shirt does. I have so many in both short sleeved and long sleeves. They also pair great with a cute midi skirt. I feel like often people are afraid to wear bodysuits because they will be uncomfortable. But I find this to be the furthest from the truth if you buy the correct size. I prefer to wear them over a regular tank or tee any day.
Denim Jacket
Finding a great denim jacket is crucial because you can literally wear it over anything. They look so cute over a tank and leggings or even a sun dress. It is light-weight and can be worn more then half the year (depending on where you live) so they also always get so much use. You can also find them everywhere at all different price points. If you are into light layers it is definitely an item you need in your closet. ( I also feel this way about having a great trench coat).
Jean jackets are also a classic wardrobe staple that will never go out of style. Wear them with leggings like above or even a cute dress. They are here to stay so don’t be afraid to invest in one. It is often part of my ‘momiform’.
Loafer Mules
I am a newbie when it comes to buying mules and these are my first pair. However I am loving them, they are super comfortable and easy to wear. They are the perfect shoe for when it isn’t quite warm enough for sandals just yet and we are just getting ready to transition from winter. They are a little dressier then a slip on sneaker too which is great. I really like these because they look just like the Gucci one’s. I love them in white because they pair perfectly with all of the spring colors we are seeing.
Utility Dress
Utility dresses are so good because they are lightweight and versatile. You can wear them with boots, sneakers, sandals, throw on a belt to dress it up, really you can do anything with it. I wear them all spring, summer, and fall so it’s worth it to have at least one in your closet. They are definitely one of those pieces that can be made into an all weather item.
Have you put away all of your winter items and started working on your spring wardrobe yet? You can check out all of my other spring content here.
