Winter Fashion Staples

Winter is my least favorite season. Probably because it seems to last forever here in Connecticut. It also used to be my least favorite season fashion-wise. However, as I have gotten older I actually love layering and accessorizing for the colder weather. Everyone’s winter wardrobe looks a little different depending on where you live. But regardless of your climate, there are winter fashion staples suited for every closet. Today I am going to share with you my winter fashion staples that will keep you warm and stylish all season long..

Winter Fashion Staples

My winter wardrobe is made up of a lot of neutral pieces that can be layered. I always invest in staples because I can wear them season after season and almost make a capsule wardrobe out of them. I tend to go for bodysuits, high waisted skinny jeans, comfortable boots, and classic coats.

Body Suits

Bodysuits are actually season less which is why they are always my number one must have. They are perfect belted with a pair of skinny jeans, with a skirt and stockings, or even a faux leather pair of paints. I can easily layer with a coat or cardigan too. I have so many bodysuits in my closet and it is probably my favorite staple! You can get basic like above, cut out shoulder, different sleeve lengths, there are so many options. I think some people shy away from them because they think they will be uncomfortable but that is not true if you purchase the correct sizw.

Faux Leather Pants

When I say pants, I am also including leggings. Above I am wearing the Commando Faux leather leggings but I also love the Spanx as well. The ones above are more of a pant and the Spanx are a bit more casual and so comfy I work out in them. I also have a pair of faux leather pants and faux leather joggers that I love to wear. Faux leather in general is a staple for me hehe. I think it adds a bit of edge while still being classic.

Combat Boots

What is not to love about them? You can literally wear them all winter long and with everything! Jeans, leggings, skirts, you name it. They are also comfortable and have a way of dressing up what you are wearing. I have to be honest, I had to use a lot of self control this year to not buy a million pairs. There are just so many cute one’s!

Dad Coat

This is probably my favorite purchase of 2020 and I wear it much more than I anticipated I would. It is such a chic and classic piece that it looks great even paired with sneakers. I am wearing a regular length in an extra small and I love the length on me, it is not too long at all. The camel color is just such a staple and I get compliments on this coat all of the time. I think it goes without say that puffer coats are also a winter weather essential. Visit sites like https://csd.shop/women/clothing/coats/ to find some and add them into your wardrobe.

Mock Neck Sweaters

Turtle neck and mock neck sweaters I should say even though I find mock neck a bit more comfortable. Also add a cut out shoulder and I am more then sold! Details like this can really make an otherwise blah sweater. I also love the distressing on this one. And I always love a good cashmere sweater too. I have actual developed quite a love for sweaters this winter because they are so comfy and warm to wear in my frigid climate.

Waterproof Boots

These are a necessity for me. We get so much snow and slush here in the winter, I feel like the ground is always wet. Even if you don’t live in an area where it snows often, they are waterproof which makes them perfect for rainy days too. I especially love these ankle boots because they are a wedge and are super comfy.

Beanies

Not only are the super cute but they are functional and keep your head warm. To me, beanies are a winter wardrobe essentials. They are perfect for those days when you just really don’t have the time to do your hair too. I feel like beanies have become such a huge fashion trend over the last few years and I really don’t see them going anywhere.
